Nice Glonous Chopstlcks

Have you ever read the paper wrapper on your chopsticks?
Here is the text verbatim from my most recent wooden utensil packaging:

"Welcome to Chinese Restaurant
please try your Nice Chinese Food With Chopsticks
the traditional and typical of Chinese glonous history
and cultual.

BAMBOO CHOPSTLCKS
PRODUCT OF CHINA"

  • That's great in so many ways. I love Nice Chinese Food.

  • Wow! These chopsticks must be really widely distributed.

Thinking, in my ignorance, I just didn't know what glonous meant, I checked it out at merriam-webster.com. They'd never heard of it, suggesting perhaps I meant gluons or gonzo.

But over at urbandictionary.com three people have defined it! All from chopstick wrappers.

  • Somehow, the spelling errors make it less glonous.

  • Such a glorious attempt!

  • Glonous means:
absolutely nothing. Unless you believe the Urban, made up version.

Glonous is in actuality just a mis-spelling of the word "Glorious".
    It's that simple.

  • For gosh sakes, just EAT YOUR FOOD already. There are much more important things in this world to worry about at this particular moment.
