THIS is pretty amazing. I'm a little sad that it looked like only ONE sign was shut off in times square last year, but maybe this year will be better. GE and NBC are planning on joining, hopefully others in NYC will too...and now that I know, I'll be lighting some candles and unplugging lights! You should too!

Poor George and I observed. PG even unplugged all our night lights. (they're his, he's the wuss who is afraid of not finding his way to the bathroom at night.) I cheated a bit though because the dryer was still running after the hour began. But I won't tell if you won't. It was kind of nice to sit in the dark and talk to my husband. I pretended we were Orthodox Jews and that we'd forgotten to turn on the lamps before sundown.
